Every Spring, the law school hosts the Dean Dunmore Moot Court Competition, an intramural appellate advocacy tournament where second-and-third year students compete in an NCAA bracket-style competition judged by faculty members, local judges and experienced practitioners.

The Spring 2020 issue of Prelaw magazine, a publication of National Jurist, has ranked �ǿմ�ý Law School ninth in the nation in Practical Training, up from 12 in 2019.  

The federal government’s top environmental lawyer discussed climate change litigation, the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and the role of the Department of Justice in environmental policy in recent remarks at the �ǿմ�ý School of Law.

In 2019, �ǿմ�ý School of Law received a $10 million gift to launch the Burke Center for Environmental Law.

The �ǿմ�ý International Criminal Court Moot Court team competed in the America round of the world-wide competition on March 14 and 15 - the first ICC competition to be held entirely online with video oral arguments due to restrictions related to the coronavirus.

Last summer, third-year law student Kristina Aiad-Toss spent two months in El Salvador interning for International Partners in Mission (IPM), a non-profit that engages in community development projects abroad to help women and children in 66 countries.

On February 25, 2020, the �ǿմ�ý Journal of International Law hosted its first-ever alumni reunion at the Butcher and Brewer tavern in Cleveland.

Professor Sharona Hoffman, Co-Director of the Law-Medicine Center, recently published an article, “What Genetic Testing Teaches about Predictive Health Analytics Regulation.”

On February 15, the �ǿմ�ý Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court Team received the highest average score of the 10 competing teams in the EODID Athens Vis Pre-Moot competition. The team was represented by 3Ls Teresa Azzam and Kathleen Burke.

Former FBI Director James Comey spent two hours with Adjunct Professors Jonathan Leiken and Caitlin Bell’s White Collar Crime students on Tuesday, February 11.  Professor Leiken worked for Mr. Comey as an AUSA at the U.S.

It is widely recognized that publishing improves teaching.  Scholarly writing enables professors to bring up-to-date information into the classroom and share their research on cutting edge developments with their students. We are happy to announce that our faculty has been ranked among the top in the nation in scholarly impact.  

�ǿմ�ý School of Law’s Jessup International Law Moot Court Team went undefeated over the weekend in the Chicago Regional Competition held Feb. 7-9, 2020. The team went 4-0 and was the top seed out of 24 law schools after the preliminary rounds.
