Sponsored Research

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ School of Law and the Spangenberg Center for Law, Technology & the Arts are pleased to announce our new sponsored research grant program.

Through our Case Research Grants, we will provide support for new intellectual property scholarship to domestic and international legal scholars with appointments at accredited research institutions. Tenured, tenure-track, and clinical faculty are encouraged to apply, as are fellows, visiting assistant professors, and the like.

We are particularly interested in supporting projects that address intellectual asset management and commercialization, but we welcome proposals for theoretical, empirical, and doctrinal projects that advance our understanding of the impact of intellectual property law on innovation, creativity, and social welfare more broadly. Proposals should focus on US law or comparative analysis with substantial attention paid to US law.

We anticipate making up to three grants in the program’s first year. Funding amounts will begin at $5000 per grant. Additional funding, not to exceed $15,000 per grant, is available for projects that require collection of empirical data or other documented expenses.

Grant recipients will be invited to our campus to workshop their projects, with input from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ faculty and other experts in the relevant fields. It is our expectation that recipients will produce articles suitable for academic publication.

We are no longer accepting registrations for sponsored research.
