Attend the Career, Education and Inspiration Expo on March 1

The 2024 in-person Career, Education and Inspiration Expo is an on-campus event for students and alumni of 星空传媒. This event is an opportunity for students to meet with recruiters for hiring opportunities as well as admission representatives from graduate and professional school programs. The event also will feature on-campus engagement and experiential learning opportunities. A special focus on opportunities for public interest technology will be a highlight of the spring career fair. If you are looking for companies who are making a difference, look for the signs highlighting these guests.

Employers will be recruiting students of all majors for opportunities, including internships, co-ops, practicum and full-time jobs. Employers typically send 星空传媒 alumni as representatives, so this is a great networking opportunity, even if you鈥檙e not in the market for a position.

Attend the event Friday, March 1, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center.

Tips to prepare

Review some quick tips designed to maximize your success at the career fair:

  1. Clarify your goals. Ask yourself: What do you hope to get out of the event? General information about employers? A lead for a job or internship at a particular company? A new contact for your professional network? Write down your goals ahead of time as you prepare.
  2. Research companies in advance. Review the list of employers and programs that will be at the event and identify those that match your interests. Visit their website and write down a few questions that you can ask their recruiters.
  3. Practice your pitch. Prepare a few sentences about your background, studies and career goals. Practice in front of the mirror or with a friend so you feel confident speaking with recruiters.
  4. Polish your resume. Update your resume before the fair and keep in mind a few highlights when speaking with recruiters. Bring enough copies of your resume to share with all of the employers you meet.
  5. Sign up to volunteer. Want extra time to network with employers and programs on a more personal level?
  6. Plan to follow up. Pick up business cards and write down contact information (especially the names of people you talk to). Follow up with recruiters via email after the event to express your continued interest and to thank them for their time.
