Human Research Protection Program

The Human Research Protection Program (HRPP) reviews and monitors human research conducted by ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ faculty, staff and students. The HRPP is comprised of an interconnected system of individuals, programs and offices. It works to assure the appropriate steps are taken to protect the rights and welfare of research participants.

IRB Advisory Committee

ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and its four Cleveland hospital affiliates are members of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) Advisory Committee (IAC), which is overseen by the associate vice president for research and executive director for ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s HRPP and serves to provide centralized oversight of the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ HRPP.

The IAC's core mission is to ensure that the oversight of human subject research is appropriate and in accordance with institutional, federal and state regulations under the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ HRPP. The secondary mission of the IAC is to share resources and best practices among member institutions and other institutions within our community to ensure the protection of participants in human research.
