Managing Research Projects
From the moment a researcher receives a notice of award, all the way through to the project closeout, the Office of Research and Technology Management (ORTM) serves as a partner in effectively managing sponsored projects. ORTM is also responsible for the execution of non-financial agreements that are required for certain types of activities related to research at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.
Awards
Phase 1: Accept and Set Up the Award
The Office of Pre-Award Services and Agreements (PASA) will work with the Principal Investigator (PI) and research administrator to accept and set up an award.
Phase 2: Continually Manage the Award
ORTM offers guidelines and procedures for various components of managing the award, including: Oversight of project finances, compliance and reporting, as well as post-award changes.
Phase 3: Close out the Project
Develop a plan and understand the procedures for award and project closeout, including: Final reports, deliverables and any required documentation.
Agreements
Agreements formalize relationships, define responsibilities and provide a legal framework for conducting research at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. The Office of Pre-Award Service and Agreements (PASA) is responsible for the review and execution of certain non-financial agreements related to research, such as Data Use Agreements (DUAs) or Material Transfer Agreements (MTAs).
