The School of Law at �ǿմ�ý congratulates students from the class of 2022 who received the following Excellence and Achievement awards: Patricia Burgess Public Law Prize Presented to Mark Firmin Jr. for outstanding academic performance in the field of public law.

The �ǿմ�ý School of Law congratulates the student, faculty and staff recipients of the following awards, as determined by a spring vote by the graduating class of 2022:

Two students from the �ǿմ�ý School of Law were among the winners of the fifth annual The Ohio State University College of Public Health Student Case Competition, held remotely in April. 

On Saturday, May 14, the School of Law honored 13 students with Case Global Service Awards. The students were recognized for their extraordinary contributions to the School of Law’s top-ranked international law program.  

Nadia Haile (LAW ‘22) and Makela Hayford (LAW ‘22), immediate past co-presidents of the Student Bar Association at �ǿմ�ý School of Law, spoke at Commencement on Saturday, May 14.

On Saturday, May 14, 2022, �ǿմ�ý School of Law marked the 130th year since its founding with a Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2022. At Severance Music Center, the law school awarded 114 JD, 105 LLM, 34 Master and 13 SJD diplomas to students from 23 States and 12 countries.

With commencement 2022 approaching, �ǿմ�ý School of Law is featuring a few of our outstanding graduating students to learn why they chose �ǿմ�ý School of Law, what courses they enjoyed, the advice they'd share with incoming students and where they're headed next.

At a special event that included a ribbon-cutting ceremony, the School of Law at �ǿմ�ý dedicated the David J. Elk (‘64) – Elk+Elk Active Learning Classroom on May 11, 2022.

In May, �ǿմ�ý School of Law held its annual Faculty Achievement Awards ceremony to recognize outstanding work by faculty members. Three major awards were presented: Faculty Distinguished Research Prize, Faculty Distinguished Service Prize and a Chaired Professorship.

In April, third-year Health Law Clinic students Ester Khaykin and Naomi Tellez gave a presentation on Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for Children to the pediatric medical providers of the Neighborhood Family Practice (NFP) Community Health Centers.

It’s not often that a lawyer literally gets to save a life. But three �ǿմ�ý School of Law students did just that this semester in the school’s Immigration Clinic.

Above the walkway to the �ǿմ�ý School of Law, visitors are greeted by a colorful banner proclaiming that �ǿմ�ý is “A National Leader in Experiential Education.”  

The Vis International Arbitration Moot Court Team at �ǿմ�ý School of Law has just completed a history making season, after competing at the 29th Vis International Arbitration Moot Court competition held virtually this past week.

In April, the Health Law Clinic at �ǿմ�ý School of Law hosted its first Pop-up Wills Clinic, helping more than 30 community members obtain wills, power of attorney and other important legal documents.
