ǿմý names Daniel J. Flannery a Distinguished University Professor, its highest honor

Daniel J. Flannery, the  and director of the Begun Center for Violence Prevention Research and Education, has been named a  of ǿմý.

This designation represents the highest honor the university will bestow on a member of its professoriate and acknowledges the significant national contributions Dr. Flannery has made in research and service.

One nominator commented that he “...is one of the most consequential social scientists in the country. Every feature of his academic record… is superlative." This title elevates the impactful work that is being done across the Mandel School.

Dr. Flannery joins the ranks of Mandel School emeritus professors Claudia J. Coulton, the Lillian F. Harris Professor Emerita of Urban Research and Social Change, and M.C. “Terry” Hokenstad, Jr., the Ralph S. and Dorothy P. Schmitt Professor Emeritus, who also held Distinguished University Professor titles.
