In a post-Communist world, how does Poland address the issues affecting its most vulnerable citizens? What is modern Polish society’s response to social welfare, and where does the funding come from? Discover how Poland’s recent political and economic transformations impact its public and private social welfare system working to tackle poverty, homelessness, aging and mental health disorders.
In cooperation with the Institute of Sociology at the University of Poznan, engage with university students, government officials, practicing social workers and some of Poland’s most prominent scholars. In addition to guided tours of nonprofit organizations, students can enhance their resumes by participating in an international symposium at the end of the course.
