Computational Genomic Epidemiology of Cancer (CoGEC) Applications

Eligibility Requirements

  • Candidates must have a PhD, MD, or MD/PhD degree, strong quantitative skills and an interest in a career in genetics research.
  • Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents.

Application Instructions

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. 

The following items should be emailed to Damian Junk, PhD, Assistant Director of Cancer Training, Education, and Research at damian.junk@case.edu:

  • A recent Curriculum Vitae including previous research experience, both didactic and practical.
  • A personal statement describing the reason for seeking research training in clinical investigation, specific research interests, and career plans (3 pages maximum).
  • At least three letters of recommendation, including one either from the doctoral committee chair/advisor or past and current supervisors. The recommendation letters should address the applicant's interest and/or ability in four areas: computation, genome, cancer, and epidemiology, and the applicant's abilities of becoming an independent researcher in these areas. Signed letters of reference may be sent as PDF files. Address letters to Rong Xu, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ School of Medicine. 
  • Proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (green card).
