Khare, research director at the National Initiative on Mixed-Income Communities, discussed plans from the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) to fix up more vacant buildings at a North Side development. “CHA’s past actions have proven it consistently fails to develop what it originally promises,” Khare said. “I hope advocates for affordable housing will continue to hold the CHA accountable to meet its mission and align with racial justice that is still lacking in the city’s housing arena.”
