Dr. Dana Crawford, professor in the Department of Population and Quantitative Health Sciences at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ School of Medicine, was inducted into the American College of Medical Informatics () on November 12 at a ceremonial dinner during the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) 2023 Annual Symposium.
ACMI President Kevin B. Johnson said, in welcoming the new ACMI Fellows, "The FACMI designation is one of distinction and pride. They represent excellence from academia, government and industry and are the best and brightest stars in our field demonstrating thought leadership, stellar experience and established scholarship. Together their important contributions to biomedicine and healthcare inform, educate and inspire the informatics community to improve human health."
The Daily noted, "Dana Crawford’s major contribution to biomedical informatics is the development and application of phenome-wide association studies. She has a track record of contributions to the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion with, among other things, numerous mentees from underrepresented backgrounds."
