Research Interests

Jacqueline Shaia is a first-year PhD student in the Clinical Translational Science PhD Program. She studies ocular disease and the genetics of vision using big data methods and electronic health records. Previously, Jacqueline was an anatomy professor at Eastern Virginia Medical School where she conducted educational research to study how virtual reality can impact student empathy.
