- (ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½). Dr. Fritz (faculty emeritus and member of the Dean's Visiting Committee) and Carol Rottman, through their Rottman Family Fund, have established a fund to support CRWU medical students who are interested in travelling to Africa (or other resource-limited countries) to conduct research and/or aid in treatment of emerging diseases such as HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria. Preference will be given to students who have incorporated work in a resource-limited country into their senior thesis. The Rottmans, who frequently travel to Africa and experience first-hand the significant health care needs of the area and have an interest in supporting the medical school, encourage medical students to become involved in research, evaluation and/or management of diseases in resource-limited countries so they can experience the challenges and opportunities that such work offers, and encourage them to consider their eventual roles in the global fight against infectious diseases.
