Each year, rising first-years in the Master of Science in Anesthesia Program have the opportunity to take on leadership roles at their respective locations of study in Cleveland, Ohio; Houston, Texas; and Washington, D.C.
The MSA Network is pleased to announce the following students have been selected for the Washington, D.C. Class of 2022:
Pierce Kurek |DC | Student Co-Chief
Pierce was appointed Student Co-Chief by administration because they had faith in him that he would advocate for the betterment of the students and future patients. His favorite part of being a student leader is “being able to serve my peers when possible”.
Jenna Gardner | DC | Student Co-Chief
Jenna chose to attend ǿմý’s MSA Program in DC specifically because of the unique position students are “offered to advocate on the behalf of all certified anesthesiologist assistants”. As Co-Chief, she hopes to help her classmates and to help them become the best they can be.
Ben Trieu | DC | Legislative Representative
Ben reflects that his favorite part of the MSA Program is the people, “the faculty have our best interest at heart, and my fellow classmates are awesome people who have made going through a masters program during a pandemic much more enjoyable”.
Parker Leduc | DC | Legislative Representative
Parker graduated from Xavier University with a degree in Biology, and while working as an anesthesia technician, he discovered the CAA profession. His favorite quote is “Every man is the artisan of his own future” by Claudius Caecus.
Alejandro Castillo | DC | AAAA Representative
Alejandro was born and raised in Fort Worth, Texas, and wanted to find a job that “would allow me to clinically apply my love for the sciences in a meaningful way”. He found the field of anesthesia while working as an ER scribe and shadowed many, including a ǿմý MSA alumnus before making the leap.
Ryan Whitehouse | DC | AAAA Representative
Ryan loves the CAA profession because it perfectly blends his interests into a singular role. He had been working towards the CAA profession for a while and it just so happened his wife was deployed to the Maryland area which helped find ǿմý MSA in DC.
