On April 5, Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Sharon L. Kennedy offered her advice on best oral argument practices to first-year law students—just in time to help them prepare for their own simulated oral arguments in LLEAP, �ǿմ�ý School of Law’s required, year-long legal research, writing and experiential skills course.

The new 2024-25 U.S. News Specialty Rankings include the rankings for 13 specialty programs at 196 law schools. Based on its collective specialty rankings, �ǿմ�ý School of Law ranked 42nd best in the nation.

Towards the end of her 2L year, Tiffany Johnston received some unexpected but welcome news—she was pregnant.  “I’ve been told since I was 16 that it would be nearly impossible for me to have a child naturally,” Johnston said. “We originally thought it might have been cancer, but she turned out to be a baby!”

On April 21, 2024, students and faculty gathered at a local restaurant to celebrate the publication of volume 34 of Health Matrix: Journal of Law-Medicine and all of the student editors’ hard work.

In the law school’s Legal Writing, Leadership, Experiential Education, Advocacy and Professionalism (“LLEAP”) program, practicing attorneys teach a simulation component in each course. The law school hosted an alumni luncheon at the stunning art deco Silver Grille in the old Higbee building downtown on April 10 with several hundred alums and faculty in attendance. A professor and four alumni selected by the Law Alumni Association received honors at the luncheon.

Trevin Crider is the champion of this year’s �ǿմ�ý School of Law Dean Dunmore Moot Court Competition! Twenty-nine students competed in the intramural appellate-advocacy tournament named for Thomas Dunmore, who served as the School of Law’s dean from 1910 to 1945.

Spring 2024 Immigration Law Clinic students have helped a variety of clients with a range of immigration matters including asylum, citizenship and green card applications. 

The Reproductive Rights Law Initiative (RRLI) at �ǿմ�ý School of Law aims to preserve, protect and expand access to abortion and reproductive health care in Ohio and throughout the Midwest.

For the second year in a row, a �ǿմ�ý law student was named a National Jurist Law Student of the Year. The publication announced this week that 3L Emily Worline was selected for the prestigious honor.
