Kishore Guda, DVM, PhD, is an Associate Professor at the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. Guda’s translational oncology team focuses on elucidating the molecular determinants of aggressive gastrointestinal (GI) malignancies (gastric, esophageal, and colorectal), aiming to impact clinical practice via developing evidence-based biomarkers and targeted therapies. His lab employs a spectrum of high-throughput systems biology, animal models, and pharmacogenetic approaches to understand the genetic basis of inherited susceptibility to GI cancers and molecular/ genetic factors contributing to cancer disparities; develop evidence-based molecular biomarkers for early detection of cancers; and develop targeted therapeutic strategies for these often refractory malignancies. In addition, his team is actively involved in developing robust analytics pipelines and integrative computational algorithms for high-throughput Omics applications. Prior to his faculty appointment, Guda was a Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) post-doctoral fellow. His research program is funded by the NIH/NCI, patient donors, and cancer foundations.
