Johnie Rose, MD, PhD is a Preventive Medicine and Public Health physician and epidemiologist specializing in the study of population health determinants and outcomes. He serves as Associate Professor in the Center for Community Health Integration at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ School of Medicine and directs the Case Comprehensive Cancer Center Population Cancer Analytics Shared Resource. He also directs the Clinical Translational Science PhD program at Case and the Preventive Medicine Residency Program at University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center.
His research and methodological work involve development of computer simulation models of interventions in populations, leveraging secondary data sources to drive community-based research and intervention, applying data science tools to population health data, and conducting health economic analyses. The foci of his recent work have been primarily in cancer prevention and control and in organ transplant allocation. In addition to his research, he frequently speaks on the topics of health systems, health policy, and health care reform.
Dr. Rose received his BS in Economics from Vanderbilt University, his MD from University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center, and his PhD in Epidemiology and Biostatistics from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. He completed his residency training at University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
My work involves applying informatics and simulation modeling techniques to address population health problems, particularly in the area of cancer control/prevention and health disparities.
