A new five-year, $1.8 million award will allow Zihua Gong, MD, PhD to work to better understand the mechanisms of resistance of PARP inhibitors (PARPi) that induce cell death in BRCA1 and BRCA2-deficient cancer cells associated with breast and ovarian cancer. Assistant staff in the Department of Cancer Biology at Lerner Research Institute, assistant professor of molecular medicine at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and member of the Case CCC's Molecular Oncology Program, Gong and his team will continue to investigate protein regulations that mediate cancer cell's sensitivity to PARPi.
