Wellness at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½

Three ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ staff reviewing class materials

In the fall of 2012, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ launched an official wellness program to enhance the health of all faculty and staff members. Expansion occurred in 2013 with the launch of the incentive program in 2014. Selected outcomes to date have been compiled into this report.

Our vision: To create a campus environment that supports the health and well-being of faculty and staff to maximize their quality of life and productivity.

The wellness program includes a Monthly Wellness Incentive, through which employees who use a Benelect medical plan can receive a financial incentive if they complete a:

  • Health Risk Assessment

Then at least TWO of these THREE activities:

  • Biometric Screening
  • Primary Care Provider Attestation Form
  • Tobacco Attestation Form

In addition, Wellness Program Incentives are offered during the year for those already receiving the monthly Wellness Incentive. Our current Wellness Program Incentives categories are:

  • Community Well-being
  • Financial Well-being
  • General Wellness
  • Nutrition and/or Weight Management
  • Physical Activity
  • Sleep
  • Stress Management
  • Tobacco Cessation

Through these incentive programs, individuals can receive $100 for each program completed, up to $200.*
(Please Note: Wellness earnings are taxable)

Creating a culture of health on campus is another important aspect of the wellness program. Creating easy ways for people to make healthy choices is a critical step as we develop and enhance well-being on campus.

The university also offers a number of additional programs and resources for its faculty and staff, ranging from counseling to child-care, fitness to healthy eating.

*Notice of Reasonable Alternative Standard: If a medical condition makes it unreasonably difficult for you to achieve the standards for the incentive under this program, or if it is medically inadvisable as determined by your physician or health care provider for you to attempt to achieve the standards for the incentive under this program, contact erc10@case.edu to request a reasonable alternative standard, and we will work with you to provide another way to qualify for the incentive.  Recommendations of your physician or health care provider will be considered and accommodated in developing an alternative standard that is reasonable in light of your health status.
