Application Requirements

When reviewing your profile for admission consideration, the Weatherhead School admissions team requires the following:

To be eligible to apply for this program, you must have earned (or be earning) the equivalent of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited U.S. institution.

All eligible applicants must have completed or be on track to complete a four-year bachelor's degree from an accredited (credentialed) institution by the start of the program. The program seeks students who have demonstrably strong mathematical background and aptitude through prior coursework and training. While we do not require applicants to have completed any specific prerequisite courses for admission, successful applicants are expected to have completed undergraduate course(s) that include foundations of Calculus. Knowledge of Linear Algebra is also desirable.

The online application does not need to be completed in one sitting. However, please note that text information cannot be changed once the application is submitted. It is strongly recommended that you submit your application several weeks before the application deadline to allow time for verification of required materials.

To help us better understand you as a candidate- beyond your transcripts, recommendation letters and resume- you'll have the opportunity to share your lived experiences through video essays and a vision statement. A link will be emailed after your application is submitted and application fee is fulfilled.

A current resume is required before your application can be submitted. The resume should include all work experience, including part-time work, internships and co-op employment. We understand that you may have new experiences that you may want to add to your resume after your application is submitted; however, your resume cannot be updated after you select “Submit.” It is recommended that resumes should be kept to 1-2 pages.

The Weatherhead Master of Supply Chain Management program does not require official transcripts for application review purposes; unofficial transcripts are accepted  for completion of an application. Applicants should upload transcripts from all post-secondary schools attended, where six or more credit hours have been earned, in the “Transcripts” section of the online application in reverse-chronological order, beginning with the most recent/highest earned degree. Final official transcripts will be required if an offer of admission is extended and the applicant chooses to enroll in the program. Your  transcripts must also state your cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or total average score on any numeric scale and include the grading scale.

As part of submitting your application, you’ll be required to enter the names, relationship and contact information of two recommenders. Your recommenders will automatically receive an email from Weatherhead School of Management (wsomadmissions@case.edu) with a link to the recommendation portal and details on how to complete their recommendation. We reserve the right to contact your recommenders directly if we need more information about you as a candidate for this program.

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) or Graduate Record Examination (GRE) exams or Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) are required for admission. Applicants choosing to submit test scores must submit (upload) either an unofficial or official exam in the “Standardized Test Reporting” section. We do not have a minimum test score requirement but please visit the class profile page to see the average test scores for the current class in this program.

We only require unofficial exams during the admissions review process. If you are admitted and decide to enroll, you will be required to submit official documents then. Further instructions will be sent by email.

Do not upload your exam or enter your test results unless you are satisfied with your current scores since you will not be able to change this after you submit your application. If you plan to retake the test in hopes of improving your scores, please wait to upload your final exam. If you do upload a GMAT or GRE and ask us to change it later, your admission decision will be delayed. New or updated test scores will not be accepted after an application has been marked complete.

  • GMAT Code: WTJ-F1-17
  • GRE Code: 1105.

Submission of standardized test scores can enhance your consideration for admission and for an academic merit scholarship. However, you may request to be considered for a GMAT or GRE submission waiver. Waivers may be granted based upon a variety of factors including but not limited to undergraduate/graduate degree, GPA, individual coursework, work experience, and/or US military experience that demonstrates a high level of achievement and readiness for our graduate program.

While we may grant a waiver, please be aware that some employers will require you to provide a GMAT or GRE during their application process. As a result we strongly recommend you take the GMAT or GRE to keep your options open especially if you are considering consulting or investment banking careers.

Waiver decisions are at the discretion of the admissions office and will be determined by review of the accompanying transcripts, resume/CV or other supplemental materials upon application submission. Review of submitted materials may take five to 10 business days.

Please refer to the information below on how to be considered for a test submission waiver:

  • Within the “Standardized Test Reporting” section of the application, indicate in the drop down list “I believe I qualify for a waiver” and follow the prompts.
  • Upon receiving your request to be considered for a test waiver, the operations team will conduct a complete and holistic review of your application materials.
  • If you are granted a test waiver, your application checklist will be updated and the admission and merit scholarship decisions will be reliant on all other materials submitted.  A test waiver does not guarantee that you will be admitted.
  • If you are not granted a waiver, you will be notified a test score is required for admission.

Applicants are prompted to pay a non-refundable $100 fee when they submit their application. Credit card payments are preferred, but checks are accepted. Both forms of payment can be submitted electronically. If an applicant chooses to mail a check, he or she must mail payment to the address below.

Note: Electronically submitted credit card and check payments are automatically added to an application. If an applicant chooses to mail payment, his or her application remains incomplete until the admissions office has received the payment. Offers of admission cannot be extended for incomplete applications.

Additional Application Requirements for International Applicants

Applicants who earned (or are in the process of earning) post-secondary degrees from universities outside of the United States are required to have a course-by-course evaluation of all of their post-secondary transcripts by  or . The evaluation must be uploaded into the transcript evaluation section within the application. Applicants can waive the evaluation if they meet one of the following conditions:

  • The unofficial transcripts state the cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) or total average score on any numeric scale. This must also include the grading scale used to calculate it.
  • Applicants can submit an official GPA certificate issued by their university stating the cumulative GPA or total average score on any numeric scale (examples: 88/100, 3.5/4.0, 3.8/5, 7/10) with the grading scale used to calculate the GPA.

If you have earned (or will earn) a three year bachelor’s degree, you may not be eligible for admission unless you can demonstrate that your degree is the equivalent of a four-year bachelor’s degree in the United States. To see if your degree meets our equivalency requirement:

  • Visit the World Education Services website and use their free  tool to see if your degree granting institution is recognized as the equivalent of a four-year degree in the U.S. If your degree is not listed as such, you will need a transcript evaluation before we can determine your eligibility.
  • If the tool says your degree is recognized as the equivalent of a four-year degree, please take a screenshot and upload this along with your transcripts to your application in the Academic History section. Then you will be granted a waiver for the transcript evaluation assuming you meet the GPA requirements mentioned above.

Advantages of having a transcript evaluation:

  • Evaluated GPA’s and individual grades tend to be higher than those stated on many international transcripts.
  • Your courses and grades will be compared more consistently with other applicants who have a GPA on a 4.0 scale.
  • If you are an international student, it confirms that your degree is the equivalent of a four-year bachelor’s degree in the United States.
  • You may also send electronic copies to more than one school.

Your application will remain incomplete until the WES or ECE evaluation has been received if required. Offers of admission will not be binding until we have verified your degree.

When ordering your transcript evaluation, you do not have to pay to express mail the report to us. Simply request that a copy be sent electronically to Weatherhead School of Management at ǿմý by selecting our school in their drop down box. We will also accept unofficial or student copies that are uploaded to the application.

The Weatherhead admissions team reserves the right to require additional verification of transcripts, grading scales or official certificates that are uploaded to your application. If documents are not authentic or inaccurate, we will deny admission.

If your native language is not English, you must submit an English language exam. We accept the unofficial TOEFL, IELTS or PTE during the admissions review process. Test results are valid for two years from the date of the exam.

Waivers are extended to non-native English speaking applicants who meet one of the following criteria (except PhD and MPOD programs; please read the program’s application requirements for specific waiver conditions):

  • Four years of undergraduate/graduate studies (combined) where English is the primary language of instruction. If English is not an official language in your country, the transcript must state that English was the primary language of instruction.
  • Three years of full-time work experience in a country where English is an official language.

Note: Offers of admission are not binding until your official test scores have been verified. Additionally, the preceding waiver policy applies only to master’s programs; for PhD programs, the applicant must meet the requirements of the Office of Graduate Studies and the specific department to which they are applying.

After Admission: Steps to Enrollment

After being accepted to Weatherhead School of Management there are various steps you’ll need to take to complete the enrollment process before you arrive on campus for orientation. However, not all of these steps can be taken immediately after your admittance. You can expect to receive instructions and information about each phase of the process by or around the time frames indicated below:

With your ǿմý ID you can activate your ǿմý email account, apply for financial aid (for U.S. citizens or international students with U.S. consignor). Students who have matriculated within the first couple application rounds will be sent information on how to activate their ǿմý Network ID by February. Applicants admitted after February will receive these instructions within a week after they are admitted.

In compliance with Department of Homeland Security regulations, ǿմý requires all matriculated international students who require an F-1 visa submit current detailed financial documentation before an I-20 or DS-2019 visa document can be processed. Students who have matriculated within the first couple rounds will receive instructions on how to submit these documents by the first or second week of April. Applicants admitted after April will receive these instructions five days after they accept our offer by making their deposit.

Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students and designed to make your first few weeks at Weatherhead more successful. Orientation dates will vary per program, but are usually 1-2 weeks before the start of the term in August. Please register as soon as you receive the orientation email from Weatherhead, which should be received as early as mid-April.

Several forms including the “Release Form for References,” “Required Consent” form and the Student Financial Responsibility Agreement must be completed. You will receive notification of completing these forms by early May.

Documents such as your final official transcripts, official test scores and for international students a degree certificate (if your final official transcripts do not state your degree earned and conferred/awarded date) must be submitted to the Weatherhead Office of Admissions before (or when) you arrive for orientation. More details on what documents are required will be sent to you by early May.

All students are required to complete the health and immunization history information and to acknowledge the privacy policy, whether or not they plan on using University Health Service for their medical needs. You will receive instructions on how to log in to the myhealthconnect system to complete your health requirements by early May.

You will receive information on securing parking permits, getting your photo ID, housing resources and student discounts on computer equipment and software by early May.

Note: If you are in a spring or summer start program, these dates will be adjusted accordingly so that you complete all necessary steps in time for classes to start in mid-January or in summer.
