Weatherhead School of Management at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is home to six unique departments—filled with educators and scholars whose work generates excitement within and outside the classroom.
Management science is and must be a flexible field, responsive to cultural, technological, and economic changes. The research of our faculty within these departments helps to advance that field of knowledge and to influence those changes, sometimes garnering national attention along the way.
Our Six Areas of Specialty
Accountancy
In the Department of Accountancy at Weatherhead School of Management, we develop students with outstanding measurement and communication skills. While some programs focus on imparting technical accounting skills, we understand the importance of teaching students how to think critically, communicate clearly and persuasively, and consider the needs of all relevant stakeholders.
Banking and Finance
Between the Department of Banking and Finance's degree programs and in-depth courses—such as those on health finance, international finance, and corporate risk modeling—our students build strong foundations in business management and are fully prepared for careers in banking, financial management, consulting and other fields.
Design and Innovation
Weatherhead School of Management’s Department of Design and Innovation—the first of its kind—was created in 2013 to promote and nurture innovative scholarship in business practice areas, including marketing, entrepreneurship, policy studies, information systems and more.
Economics
In the Department of Economics, our research and teaching interests range from core issues in micro and macroeconomics to international economics, health economics, incentive design and behavioral economics, negotiation and conflict resolution, and the economics of technological change.
Operations
Since granting the world’s first doctorate in operations research, the Department of Operations has advanced a curriculum that combines mathematics, statistics and computer modeling to assist in decision making for complex organizational problems.
Organizational Behavior
In 1964, the Department of Organizational Behavior at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½â€™s Weatherhead School of Management created the field’s first doctoral program—and we’ve been leading in innovation ever since.
