The ReMIND study, now closed to enrollment, compared the effectiveness of a two-part intervention to reduce stress in parent caregivers over six months. The intervention included Resourcefulness Training© (Jaclene A. Zauszniewski, PhD, RN-BC, FAAN, 1995) and mindfulness meditation via a smartphone application called Stop, Breathe & Thinkâ„¢.

Participant information was collected during face-to-face visits to understand the effect of the intervention on physical (brain activation through a fMRI scan, C-reactive protein, and IL-6 through a blood draw and cortisol through a hair sample) and emotional (distress, quality of life) outcomes.

This study was funded by National Institutes of Health, P30 NR015326-02S2 (Understanding the Neurobiological Mechanisms of Self-Management Science)
