Licensure and Certification Disclosure Statements

BSN Program

Graduates can apply to take the national NCLEX exam in any state and territories of the United States, upon successful completion of the BSN program. Guidelines for the application process to take the national NCLEX exam may vary by state. Go to the Board of Nursing website (see link below for NCSNB), for a specific state to find the instructions for RN license application for nursing student graduates.

MN Program

Graduates can apply to take the national NCLEX exam in any state and territories of the United States, upon successful completion of the BSN program. Go to the Board of Nursing website (see link below for NCSBN), for a specific state to find the instructions for RN license application for nursing student graduates.

MSN Program

Graduates of the Master of Science (MSN) program majors are eligible to apply to sit for the national certification exam in her/his respective MSN major. Also, graduates are eligible for licensure as advanced practice nurses (APRNs) in states and territories of the United States. Our MSN curriculum includes content based on the laws and regulations delineating the scope of practice for APRNs in Ohio. States other than Ohio may have more or less restrictive regulations.

If a graduate applies for APRN licensure in another state, the graduate may be asked to meet additional requirements based on the respective state’s or territory’s practice act and scope of practice for APRNs. You may have to take a rules or regulations course (CE or academic) if you practice/prescribe outside of Ohio, specific to the state in which you practice/prescribe. Approvals

BSN and MN Programs

The Ohio Board of Nursing granted the Graduate Entry, Master of Nursing (MN) Program Full Approval through 2025.  

The Ohio Board of Nursing granted the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Frances Payne Bolton School of Nursing, Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Program Full Approval through 2027. 


Accreditations

BSN, MN, MSN, DNP and APRN Programs

The Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Master of Nursing (MN), Master of Science in Nursing (MSN), Post-Graduate APRN Certificate, and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) programs at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ are accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) through June 30, 2031. The next accreditation visit is due in 2030.

DNP Nurse Anesthesia Programs

The Frances Payne Bolton DNP Nurse Anesthesia programis accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Education Programs (COA). The last accreditation was in 2020. The next accreditation date is Spring 2030.

MSN Midwifery Program

The MSN Nurse-Midwifery program is accredited by the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education (ACME) (formerly ACNM Division of Accreditation) in 2015. The next accreditation is due in 2025.
