A plethora of wellness resources can be found locally as well as nationally.  See the lists below for available resources for stress management, weight management, emotional health, and more.

University

  • :  One to One Fitness, part of ǿմý, is the premiere Cleveland fitness center, equipped to help you save time and see progress achieving overall wellness in your life. Think cardio, resistance, free- and machine weights, personal training, massage therapy and plenty of special programs all in one spot. They are 80+ strong in group exercise classes — from power yoga and Pilates to indoor cycling and cardiokick — and boast one of the best smoothie bars in town.
  • : The Prevention Research Center for Healthy Neighborhoods (PRCHN) was established at ǿմý School of Medicine in 2009. The center’s mission is to foster partnerships within Cleveland’s urban neighborhoods for developing, testing and implementing strategies to prevent and reduce the burden of chronic disease.
  •  The ǿմý Wellness Team is pleased to offer the RELAX Line, a phone line with five different meditations designed to help you refocus, refresh, rejuvenate, renew and restore.
  • : Our bodies respond to the way we think, feel and act, an association often referred to as the “Mind-Body Connection.” We strive for wellness in all areas of our lives in order to achieve academically, chart our career paths and to advance our personal lives and relationships. These programs and services seek to mitigate risk, remove barriers to student success, encourage work-life balance and create a diverse, respectful environment in which all can learn.
  • : In the fall of 2012, ǿմý launched an official wellness program to enhance the health of all faculty and staff members. Expansion occurred in 2013 with the launch of the incentive program in 2014.

Cleveland

  • : The Cleveland Clinic has a history of leadership in the wellness sphere. They have a designated Chief Wellness Officer, New York Times best-selling author and Wellness authority, Dr. Michael Roizen, and has established a Wellness Institute, responsible for implementing wide-reaching wellness programs that aggressively advocate healthy living and remove possible barriers to this end.
  • : The staff at the Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center provide a number of ways for you to learn how to live a healthy lifestyle and self-manage your own health. The  site provides Veterans and their families excellent, reliable patient education information as well as the latest VA News. Information about Veterans' benefits and services are also available.
  • : The MetroHealth System is committed to promoting a healthier community, including the well-being of their employees. MetroHealthy provides programs, resources and information designed to empower employees to make healthier choices. Through the MetroHealthy Initiative, our goal is to inspire employees to be role models who commit to healthy living for themselves, our patients and the community.
  • : University Hospitals Health & Wellness is a resource for information that can help you take control of your health. It offers a wide array of educational materials and in-depth information on a variety of topics including classes and events, drug information, publications, support groups and video libraries. Offering the latest and most up-to-date information on a range of health topics, University Hospitals Health & Wellness allows patients and their families to gain the knowledge they need to be active participants in their own medical care and overall wellbeing.

National

  • : The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics is the world's largest organization of food and nutrition professionals founded in Cleveland, Ohio, in 1917. The academy is committed to improving the nation's health and advancing the profession of dietetics through research, education and advocacy.
  • : ACSM is the largest sports medicine and exercise science organization in the world. With more than 50,000 members and certified professionals worldwide, ACSM is dedicated to advancing and integrating scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine. The American College of Sports Medicine advances and integrates scientific research to provide educational and practical applications of exercise science and sports medicine.
  • : ACE’s mission is to get people moving. ACE envisions a world in which obesity and other preventable lifestyle diseases are on the decline because people have been understood, educated, empowered and granted responsibility to be physically active and committed to healthy choices.
  • : There are many opportunities for public health professionals and health care professionals to educate others. To help in that effort, CDC has put together a set of materials for dissemination purposes. One set is to be given to patients and another set is for professionals.
  • : CDC is a leader in nationwide efforts to ease the burden of cancer. Through the Division of Cancer Prevention and Control (DCPC), CDC works with national cancer organizations, state health agencies and other key groups to develop, implement and promote effective strategies for preventing and controlling cancer.
  • : National Diabetes Prevention Program—or National DPP—is a partnership of public and private organizations working to reduce the growing problem of prediabetes and type 2 diabetes.

  • : Wellness/CV is a subunit of SCAN that focuses on cardiovascular and wellness nutrition by educating dietetics professionals and the public about wellness and cardiovascular health, providing resources and networking opportunities and advancing the cardiovascular and wellness RD as a career specialty.
