Culinary Medicine
Students meet monthly to integrate the evidence-based science of nutrition and disease prevention they have learned with hands-on cooking participation and demonstrations led by registered dietitians. Learn more about culinary medicine.
Skill Sessions
Students meet monthly to explore topics related to wellness and develop skills that can be applied to their personal life as well as to patients in their future practice. Topics discussed include conveying difficult news, , integrative medicine, mindfulness, motivational interviewing and resilience. Learn more about skill sessions.
Special Topics
Students have the opportunity to participate in enrichment activities and special topic seminars presented by guest speakers. Topics include motivational interviewing, grocery store tours, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and Dr. Esselstyn’s Prevent and Reverse Heart Disease Program.
Student Initiatives
Students have the opportunity to create and lead a student wellness committee dedicated to creating and identifying wellness opportunities on campus and beyond such as physical activities and stress-relieving activities.
