Special Collections and Archives provide access to the Library’s unique materials, including rare books, manuscripts and photos with an emphasis on the history of science and technology, performing arts, architecture and urban planning. Notable recent acquisitions include “On the Revolution of the Heavenly Spheres,” the second edition of Nicolaus Copernicus’ revolutionary theory that the planets revolved around the sun and not the earth, and “The Tragedie of Hamlet Prince of Denmark” by Edward Gordon Craig, one of only 322 handmade copies of this work in existence.
