Your ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ ID Card is Your Library Card

With your ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ ID card, you may check out items from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ campus libraries, affiliate libraries, and . Expand your search for library materials beyond the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ campus and affiliate libraries by exploring library resource sharing networks like , , and Interlibrary Loan. When visiting OhioLINK libraries, be sure to have your handy as well. Please contact the institution for more information about visiting and making use of their collections.

Online Library Account Access

Login to your library account through the KSL website to track due dates, renew items online, and check the status of OhioLINK and SearchOhio requests. Check your account frequently to avoid accruing fines and fees.

You will need your for login. The first time you login, leave the PIN field blank and then create one at the following prompt. If you have forgotten your PIN, or need help obtaining your Library Account Number, call your library or KSL's Service Center at 216.368.3506.

Loan Periods and Renewals

Undergraduate Students:

Most circulating books from Kelvin Smith Library have a 21 day loan period, with up to 4 renewals of 21 days each, barring holds or recalls.* For detailed information concerning loan rules of other library materials, please see the Loan Periods Table.

Graduate Students:

Most circulating books from Kelvin Smith Library have a fixed due date that falls at the end of the current semester, which may be renewed up to 2 times for 1 semester each, barring holds or recalls.* For detailed information concerning loan rules of other library materials, please see the Loan Periods Table.

Faculty and Staff:

Most circulating books from Kelvin Smith Library and have a 1 year fixed due date in May, which may be renewed 1 time for an additional year, barring holds or recalls.* For detailed information concerning loan rules of other library materials, please see the Loan Periods Table.

*Please note that Kelvin Smith Library and OhioLINK materials are always subject to immediate recall for course reserves. You will receive an email notice if an item you’ve checked out is needed back for this reason.

Visiting Scholars:

While ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ staff and faculty have a 1 year fixed due date for most KSL books, Visiting Scholars have a slightly shorter loan period. Because Visiting Scholar privileges are temporary, materials are due back two weeks prior to the end of each patron's access. In order for visiting researchers to access library resources, they must be affiliated with the University as faculty, staff, or a student. A sponsoring department is required to request or renew an affiliate ID for the Visiting Scholar through [U]Tech. The University sponsor would select to request a network ID through the Case Affiliate Request Form. Then select the Post Doc/Visiting Scholar affiliation. Once the affiliate network ID has been created, a department sponsor must complete the Visiting Scholar application.
