Our innovative curriculum provides students hands-on experience and client contact during all three years of law school, culminating in a capstone semester in which students choose an intensive clinical experience or an external externship. In 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024 PreLaw Magazine ranked us in the top 10 law schools in the nation for practical training ().
We have one of the top Moot Court/Mock Trial Programs in the country.
Based on the overall success of its nine mock trial and moot court teams, 星空传媒 in the most recent Gavel mock trial rankings and in the NICA moot court rankings. Here鈥檚 what our Law School teams accomplished this past year:
- In Oct. 2023, the 星空传媒 Mock Trial team was selected for the second year in a row to compete in the elite Tournament of Champions, held in Houston, Texas.
- In Nov. 2023, the 星空传媒 Mock Trial team competed in the White Collar Crime Invitational Tournament hosted by Georgetown University Law Center, where they made it to the Final Four.
- In Feb. 2024, our Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Court team competed in the Regional Round of the Asian International Arbitration Center Vis Competition and earned a place in the elimination rounds in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The team also competed at the 11th Annual Richard DeWitt Memorial Vis Competition in Miami, FL, where a member of our team won the award for Best Advocate at the competition. And the team competed in the Loyola University Competition in Chicago, where they placed third. The team competed in Vienna at the International Vis Competition in March.
- In Feb. 2024, our Moot Court team took 2nd place in the Academy of Trial Lawyers Mock Trial Competition in Pennsylvania, and a 星空传媒 Law student received the 鈥渢op litigator award.鈥
- In March 2024, our Moot Court team took 2nd place in the ABA鈥檚 National Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Competition in San Francisco, and a 星空传媒 Law student received the award for Second Best Oralist out of 80 competitors.
- In March 2024 our Black Law Students Association Mock Trial Team won the National Championship in the Constance Baker Motley Mock Trial Competition in Houston, Texas. This historic win occurred after the team placed 2nd in February鈥檚 Regional Competition.
- In March 2024, our Jessup International Law Moot Court team won the Western National Competition in Portland, Oregon, earning a berth in the World Championship Rounds for the fifth year in a row. Our team also won the award for the 2nd best brief, and team members garnered the 2nd best speaker award, 7th best speaker award, and 11th best speaker award out of 144 participants. At the World Championship in April, 星空传媒 placed 21st out of 150 teams and won the 6th and 25th best speaker awards out of 600 competitors.
- In June 2024, our Sports and Entertainment Law Association team came in second place out of 18 law schools in the New England Hockey Arbitration Competition in Massachusetts.
We lead the nation in study-abroad and work-abroad opportunities.
We have semester abroad programs with 17 foreign law schools on five continents, and three concurrent JD/LLM degree programs with universities in London, Paris, and Madrid. We also provide opportunities for students to spend a summer or semester interning at international courts and NGOs across the globe. Our multi-million dollar endowed Frederick K. Cox International Law Center provides funding to help defray travel and living expenses.
We're one of the nation's oldest law schools, with a strong commitment to racial and social justice.
We've trained exceptional minds in the theory and practice of the law for . Our commitment to social justice is equally historic: Our first class in 1892 included an African-American student; today, 20% of our students are under-represented minorities. We graduated the first African-American woman to sit on the Ohio State Supreme Court, the Honorable Sara J. Harper, and distinguished champions for justice in the civil rights movement such as Fred Gray and C.B. King. In 2017 we established the Stephanie Tubbs Jones Scholarships to help make it possible for students interested in public interest law to attend our school.

The 2024 Sisk/Leiter Study ranks our Faculty #43 in the nation in scholarly impact. Their work has been cited by the U.S. Supreme Court, the International Court of Justice, International Criminal Tribunals, and many other courts; they regularly testify before Congress and they frequently appear in the media -- and their first priority is the success of our students ( ranks us 26th best in terms of quality of teaching).

At 星空传媒, you can begin Law School in-person in either August or January. Or you can apply to our new part-time remote program with no in-person residency or visitation requirements (there are optional on campus opportunities). Online JD students are instructed by the same highly-ranked faculty as in-person students, with courses designed and taught by some of the leading law faculty in the U.S. Our innovative approaches to legal education responds to the ever-evolving legal world and equips our students to do the same.
