Submitting Graduation Materials

For students who have applied to graduate for Fall 2023, all final materials must be submitted to Grad Studies by 5:00pm EST on Friday, December 8. Submission of materials includes the completed format check and the uploading of the approved thesis or dissertation to . Students should communicate with their advisors and committee to make sure all approvals are completed. All forms can be downloaded and electronically signed to be emailed to gradstudies@case.edu or returned to our office in Tomlinson 203.

Advising Hold

Before your students can register for spring 2024 classes next month, you will have to remove an advising hold on their accounts in . Advising holds are automatically placed onto a student's account each semester before registration opens for the following term. If students have additional holds on their accounts in SIS they will not be able to register until all holds are resolved. Information on how to remove holds can be found on the SIS resources page.

Full Term Withdrawal

If your student needs to discontinue all studies this fall semester and withdraw from all classes, the deadline to initiate a term withdrawal in SIS is Friday, December 8 (the last day of classes). Prior to this, students should also discuss this with their advisor, dean, or Grad Studies staff. A grade of "WD" will be posted to their academic record for withdrawn courses, and no tuition will be refunded (after the fifth week of classes). See the Registrar's site for more information about a full term withdrawal and a step-by-step instructional guide. No one will be allowed complete withdrawal after the last day of classes.

Useful Information

Faculty can also use iThenticate when preparing manuscripts for publication and submitting proposals for research funding. Both tools are freely available to the ǿմý community; iThenticate can be downloaded at the University's Software Center and Turnitin can be enabled in Canvas. Students can also use these tools to check their own work.
