Department of Music Colloquia provide a weekly forum for presentation and discussion of recent research by distinguished visitors and by Ðǿմ«Ã½ faculty and graduate students in musicology, historical performance practice, and music education. Klezmer Music Ensemble Concert

Yiddish Khasene: A Celebration of the East European Jewish Wedding
Location: Harkness Chapel
A concert featuring klezmer music that was performed at traditional East European Jewish weddings (khasene). The repertoire includes artistic melodies to greet and honor the wedding guests (mazltov, dobriden), virtuosic table songs (tish nigunim), music to bid everyone a fond farewell (dobranotsh, zay gezunt, gute nakht) and more.
Baroque Orchestra Concert

A program featuring Concerto Competition winner Timothy Orlando performing Henri Wieniawski’s Violin Concerto No. 2 in D minor, Op. 22. Other innovative works on this concert include Ludwig van Beethoven’s Leonore Overture No. 3, Op. 72b and and Franz Liszt’s Les Preludes.
