Ted Ladd is a serial technology entrepreneur. He held positions in market development at Palm Inc., serving as the company’s spokesman during its initial public offering. He founded, led, and then sold a renewable energy software company, which was supported by three research grants from the National Science Foundation. More recently, he was responsible for external partnerships for a smartwatch” company that was acquired by Google. He is a professor on the San Francisco campus of the Hult International Business School, focusing on entrepreneurship and strategy.
His research explores business models for clean technologies to generate renewable energy. His qualitative paper won the award for Best Paper in Social Entrepreneurship at the 2014 AOM Conference. His current research focuses on the traits, behaviors, and methods of successful individuals and teams in a cleantech business pitch competition.
Ted holds a BA triple major in biology, government, and sociology from Cornell University, an MBA from Wharton at the University of Pennsylvania in entrepreneurship, an MA in international economics from SAIS at Johns Hopkins University, and is pursuing a Doctorate in Management at ǿմý. He and his wife live in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and Woodside, California.
