Chuck D. Fowler is a Trustee of ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and served as Chairman of the Board, June 2012 - June 2016. Mr. Fowler joined the Board of Directors of Covia Holdings Corporation in 2018 and previously served as a Director of Fairmount Santrol from 1984 to 2018 and as Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Fairmount Board. Mr. Fowler served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Fairmount Santrol from 1996 until his retirement in 2013.

A 1990 graduate of the Weatherhead School of Management's Executive Master of Business Administration degree program, Fowler became the university's 38th current trustee.

A native of Danville, Illinois, Fowler has held leadership positions in the mineral production industry for four decades. He is past president of both Wedron Silica Company and Martin Marietta Corporation's Industrial Sand Division. He has served on the boards of the Alzheimer's Association, Geauga Park Foundation, Geauga YMCA and currently serves on the boards of the DDC Clinic, Flying Horse Farms, and the Greater Cleveland Water Alliance.

In 2007, Fairmount Santrol, which has supported the Weatherhead School of Management for more than 20 years, endowed the Fairmount Santrol Chair in Social Entrepreneurship at the school. The inaugural appointment of the chair was made to David Cooperrider, director of the Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit and a founding expert of Appreciative Inquiry. In 2009, Char and Chuck Fowler generously gifted $7.5 million to establish The Fowler Center for Sustainable Value, now the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit. And in 2013, Char and Chuck Fowler made the generous gift of $6 million to establish the Fowler Family Fellowship.
