Piezoelectric Sonicator for Aerosolization

An inhaler with an additional red cap attached to the medicine canister

Inhalers such as those used to treat Asthma patients often need to be shaken before use in order to ensure the active ingredients are well mixed into the inactive ingredients prior to use. Forgetting to shake the inhaler can prolong symptoms and cause discomfort to patients. This prototype device solves that problem by utilizing a piezoelectric actuator to vibrate and mix the contents of the inhaler just prior to use.
