The Office for Interprofessional Education, Research and Collaborative Practices is currently working with faculty in the College of Arts and Sciences and the School of Engineering to offer one-semester interdisciplinary teamwork courses for undergraduates during the 2021-2022 academic year.
These courses include three main components:
- An authentic and meaningful project with a community, nonprofit, or corporate partner that students complete in small, interdisciplinary teams
- Coursework specific to the project that is provided by an interdisciplinary team of faculty and staff
- Teamwork skills education in order for students to achieve higher impact on their teams
These three-credit courses will be offered in the fall and/or spring semesters for one semester, and courses will be offered in collaboration with think[box], Institute for Smart, Secure and Connected Systems (ISSACS), and other community-engagement service learning entities at ǿմý. Students will present their project and deliverables at the end of each semester. Projects will be longitudinal over several semesters, and teams will “handover” the project to the next student team at the beginning of each semester.
If your unit or center is interested in being a site for an interdisciplinary team of undergraduate students or if you have other questions about this coursework, please contact Associate Provost Tyler Reimschisel at ǿմýTeamImpact@case.edu.
