Quentin Quereau, Associate Professor Emeritus, joined the Music Department faculty in 1974 after completing his PhD in Musicology at Yale University. During his early years at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ he was active in research, publishing articles on the parody mass and Palestrina in theJournal of the American Musicological Society and The Journal of Musicology and giving papers at meetings of the American Musicological Society. During the 1980s his focus gradually shifted from research to performance, and he eventually appeared as tenor soloist with Apollo’s Fire, Lyric Opera Cleveland, Ohio Chamber Orchestra, Cleveland Chamber Symphony and the Cleveland Orchestra. He also appeared in Bach festivals in several states and in recital with pianists Donald Payne and David Breitman, among others. His teaching at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ included graduate courses in medieval and Renaissance music and undergraduate courses in opera, art song, and oratorio. He twice served as department chair: 1988-1993 and 1999-2002. After retiring from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ in 2005 he taught part-time for a decade at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
