Pre-Tenure Extensions for Parenting
Parents who submit notification within one year of a child’s birth or adoption are guaranteed a one-year extension of the pre-tenure period. Such requests are prepared by the faculty member and submitted to the dean’s office for submission through Interfolio to the Office of the Provost.
Pre-Tenure Extensions for Other Reasons
Requests for pre-tenure extensions for reasons other than parenting must be reviewed at the school level and submitted through Interfolio to the Office of the Provost for final decision. Such requests are submitted to the as soon as possible after the event that forms the basis for the request.
