Faculty Promotions

Promotion to professor or associate professor award of tenure is an annual event occurring on July 1. Promotion to senior instructor or assistant professor is a biennial event that may occur on Jan. 1 or July 1.

Sabbaticals and Leaves of Absence

The Office of the Provost approves sabbaticals and non-medical leaves following the approval process at the school level as described in the individual school’s bylaws and in accord with the school’s timetable.

Submission and Deadlines

View a list of actions requiring approval by the Office of the Provost. A manager of faculty appointment matters for each school is responsible for submissions. Most actions have rolling deadlines, but some are required to be submitted by a certain date.
