It’s that bittersweet time of the year when students we have seen grow intellectually and personally move on to the next phase of their lives. The various events – the Clap Out, Convocation and Diploma Ceremony – spur a range of emotions in all of us, from elation and pride to belonging and appreciation. Participating in the various graduation ceremonies allows faculty and staff to share with students these life changing moments.

MAY 15
Register for these events
2:45 p.m. Clap Out
Second annual Clap Out. All faculty and staff members are invited to gather along the main pathway on the Case Quad to applaud graduates as they process from the Binary Walkway, through the Case Quad, and on to the Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center.
3:30 p.m. University Convocation
The Convocation will be held at the Veale Recreation and Athletic Center. Speaker Vinton Cerf, vice president and chief internet evangelist for Google, who will deliver the commencement address. Dr. Cerf is widely known as one of the “fathers of the internet.” His visit already has generated interest among the broader Cleveland community, and we are excited to welcome him to campus. Faculty, staff, and graduates are encouraged to attend.
4:45 p.m. Sparten Send-Off Barbecue
Immediately Following Convocation at Freiberger Field, open to entire campus community.
MAY 17
4:30 - 6:00 p.m. New Alumni Welcome Ceremony
WSOM External Relations Team will host a New Alumni Welcome Ceremony for our graduating undergraduate and graduate students to attend.
MAY 18
12:30 p.m. Weatherhead School of Management Graduate and Professional Diploma
Veale Convocation, Recreation and Athletic Center. As in the past, program managers and other staff members are encouraged to volunteer to help check in and line up the students before the ceremony. If you still would like to volunteer for this activity, .
