Dr. Bailey serves as President of Paraquis Solutions, LLC, a strategy and governance consulting organization. He previously served as the President of the Committee for Economic Development (CED), a nonprofit, nonpartisan, business-led public policy organization that delivers well-researched analysis and reasoned solutions to our nation’s most critical issues. Prior to joining CED in 2018, he served as Chairman and CEO of Authentix Corporation, a global authentication solutions company, which was owned by The Carlyle Group, a private equity firm based in Washington, DC.
Dr. Bailey previously served as Chief Executive Officer and Director at Viisage Technology, Inc. – a leading provider of advanced technology identity management solutions. Under his leadership, Viisage’s market capitalization grew from $60 million to over $1 billion. During his tenure, the company executed nine acquisitions, eventually culminating in the formation of L-1 Identity Solutions, a NYSE listed company that was eventually acquired by the French aerospace company, Safran. Dr. Bailey has served as director to nine publicly traded companies and several privately held companies. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board at Authentix and is a lead independent director at Argo Group Holdings, Inc.
Dr. Bailey holds advanced graduate degrees in engineering from the University of California – Berkeley and the University of Southern California, an MBA from George Washington University and a PhD in Management from ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. His dissertation focused on boardroom decision making and its impact on firm performance. He also served as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Trout Unlimited, a cold water conservation organization. He is also a Trustee for the United States Naval Academy Athletic and Scholarship Foundation and a member of the Weatherhead School of Management Visiting Committee. Dr. Bailey has also served as an expert financial witness in front of the Delaware Court of Chancery, the major court responsible for oversight of publicly traded companies within the United States and has spoken and published frequently on corporate governance at both academic and professional conferences. As an Adjunct Professor in the Weatherhead School of Management at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ he has taught classes on innovation, governance and general management to MBA and executive students.
