Dan Matthews is responsible for leadership and oversight of the Research Computing team as well as the Identity Management Engineering, Cloud Services, and Network Engineering and Unified Communications teams. These teams represent a broad portfolio of services such as high performance computing, campus telephones, single sign-on, server hosting, and network connectivity throughout campus. During his time at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½, Dan has been involved with Research and Education networks such as the Ohio Academic and Research Network (OARnet) and has provided leadership to the Ohio Valley Internet2 consortium, which connects Ohio's research institutions to the national high-speed research and education network. He oversaw the establishment of research focused cyberinfrastructure such as the campus Science DMZ. He has spent much of his career in higher education focusing on "connectivity", be it with fiber optic cables and radio signals, or via conservations with faculty, staff, and students. 

Dan joined ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ in 2010 as a lead network engineer (LAN/WAN architect). Over the years, he has taken on roles of increasing responsibility, including Manager of Network Engineering and Security, and Director of Network Engineering and Unified Communications. Prior to joining the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ team, he had a network engineering role at Kent State University where he earned a B.B.A in Management and Information Systems.
