The Office of Residence Life at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ is a group of 130 passionate and dedicated staff! The team is comprised of 15 full-time professionals, 16 graduate-level paraprofessionals, and 104 undergraduate staff. Below is an overview of the various roles our team members play and the ways we support our residential students and the greater campus community.

Full-Time Professionals

We maintain a group of dedicated, professionals that manage and support the residential experience here at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. This group consists of master's level professionals and administrative staff that keep things running smoothly on a daily basis. 

Members of the Central Office Staff include our Director, Associate Director, two Assistant Directors, Administrative Assistant, and Department Assistant. Each Central Office team member is a full-time professional with extensive experience and a unique area of responsibility. Our Central Office Staff can be found in the main Residence Life Office, located in Thwing Center, Suite 108. Our Department Assistant has an office located in Tyler House, Room 100 (Design Center) and our Assistant Director for the Independent Living Experience has an office located in the Village at 115, House 3A.

Our nine (9) Residential Community Directors are full-time, master's level professionals who oversee the residential communities across campus. They are responsible for supporting residents, coordinating their communities' experiences, and supervising graduate and undergraduate team members. 

 

Graduate Student Staff

We currently maintain a staff of 16 graduate-level students. These paraprofessional staff members are pursuing degrees at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and other neighboring higher education institutions, including Kent State University and Cleveland State University.

Our staff of 12 Assistant Residential Community Directors within Residence Life support our first year, second year, and upperclass residential communities. ARCDs are responsible for supporting residents, implementing the residential experience model, supervising undergraduate staff, advising our Community Councils, and providing leadership to their residential community alongside their full-time Residential Community Directors supervisors.

Our 4 Graduate Resident Directors on the Residence Life team support the Independent Living Experience, comprised of upperclass students. GRDs are specifically responsible for supporting residents within Triangle Towers, Hazel Apartments, and our Property-Management Apartment (PMA) communities. Additionally, they are responsible for coordinating part their specific community's programming and engagement experience while also overseeing their residential communities alongside our Assistant Director for Independent Living.

 

Undergraduate Student Staff

The Office of Residence Life would not be able to function without our undergraduate student staff. They live and work alongside our residential students, often providing the most immediate support and guidance to their residential peers.

For the 2024-2025 Academic Year, we have a staff of 104 Resident Assistants as part of the Residence Life team! They are all undergraduate students pursuing degrees at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. RAs are also responsible for creating communities that feels safe, are focused on learning, and are inclusive and respectful of all members.

Our Central Office Student Assistants are undergraduate students pursuing degrees at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½. COSAs primary responsibilities are to assist with the day-to-day functions of and to build community within the main Residence Life Office, located in Thwing Center, Suite 108.
