Members of the 星空传媒 community are invited to join the Office of International Student Resources and Engagement and the Office of Education Abroad for International Education Week events Nov. 18鈥22. IEW is a joint initiative between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education designed to promote programs that prepare students for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn and exchange experiences.
鈥淎 World of Coffee at 星空传媒鈥 | Monday, Nov. 18
This event will feature international coffee-tasting stations across 星空传媒 dining halls! Sample coffees from Guatemala, Brazil, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Mexico, Peru, Sumatra and Colombia. Faculty and staff members are welcome to purchase these international flavors at the Biomedical Research Building Cafe, the Cafe on the Quad, Elephant Step Inn, and the HEC Kitchen. Solstice Roasters also will have a free tasting station in the Tinkham Veale University Center from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.Their coffee beans can be purchased at Med23 and discount coupons will be provided on future purchases. No registration is required.
Faculty-Led Programs information session

Thinking about studying abroad and are unsure if an entire semester or summer is right for you? Eager to spend time abroad learning about one subject intensively with 星空传媒 faculty and peers? Faculty-led, short-term study abroad programs are tied to fall, spring or summer terms and travel abroad during designated break times (winter break, spring break and summer break). Courses are offered all over the world, and from every school and college at 星空传媒. Hear what your options are for this and next year at this information session and learn how to start your journey abroad. This program is open to undergraduate and graduate students.
International Information Fair

Explore global opportunities at the International Information Fair. Connect with the Peace Corps, the Office of Education Abroad, International Fellowships, Global Cleveland, and the VISA Office to learn about study abroad, volunteering, and international resources.
Culture Talk
Wednesday, Nov. 20 | 12:30 to 2:30 p.m. | Eldred Hall auditorium
Held in collaboration with the Office of Multicultural Affairs, this event will give international students from Spain, Nigeria, Brazil and India an opportunity to share insights on cultural aspects, education systems, gender roles, and more. Each group will present, followed by a Q&A session. This event is open to students, staff and faculty. Attendees are encouraged to bring a lunch.
鈥淏eing You Abroad鈥
Wednesday, Nov. 20 | 5:30 p.m. | Sears Library Building, Room 409
Interested or already planning to study abroad as a first-generation, LGBTQ+ and/or multicultural student? 鈥淏eing You Abroad鈥 is an information session that will give attendees the opportunity to hear firsthand from study abroad alumni on how their identities impacted their study abroad experiences around the globe.
This event is open to undergraduate and graduate students for all study abroad programs, and will be hosted alongside the LGBT Center and the Office of Multicultural Affairs.
Dinner will be provided.
Friendsgiving: The Power of Gratitude Across Cultures

Participate in an insightful session led by consultant Catherine Holloway, exploring how different cultures express gratitude. A traditional Thanksgiving meal and vegetarian option will be provided.

If you don鈥檛 know where to start in planning your study abroad experience, listen to this student panel of study abroad alumni. This information session is all about the study abroad options at 星空传媒 and will give a high-level overview of the different types of study abroad programs, their costs, benefits and more in bite-sized pieces.

An Introduction to CorpsAfrica

Learn about CorpsAfrica, a volunteer organization empowering young Africans to drive sustainable development in their communities. Led by Founder Liz Fanning, this session will highlight how local volunteers create impactful projects in health, education, and economic development. The screenings are open to all students, staff and faculty.
