Alexis Catanzarite is a proud first-generation college student from a small town in southern West Virginia. She earned her Masters in Rhetoric and Composition from the University of Kansas, where she found her passion for mentoring students on an individual basis, leading her to a career in advising. Alexis served as the Senior Pre-Medical Advisor at the University of Kansas for four years before coming to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ in 2019 as the Pre-Health Advisor. Alexis is dedicated to empowering students pursuing careers in healthcare through holistic advising to facilitate personal and professional growth and success. She prioritizes fostering discovery, community, and empathy within her guidance, emphasizing values that extend beyond academics. Trained in teaching writing and rhetoric, Alexis most enjoys helping students understand how to effectively tell stories that express their motivation and passion for pursuing careers in healthcare when they are ready to apply to professional schools. Outside of work, Alexis enjoys traveling abroad with her husband, snuggling with her cat, and trying new recipes in the kitchen.
Fun fact: A lover of adventure, Alexis has snorkeled in the 2°C water of the Silfra fissure in Iceland, the only place in the world where you can dive or snorkel between two tectonic plates.
