Humanities @ Work
The Humanities@Work program connects ǿմý humanities students with corporate, government, nonprofit and other partners through community discussions, networking events and paid career opportunities (internship, practicum, etc.).
Humanities@Work is sponsored by the College of Arts and Sciences and the Baker-Nord Center for the Humanities and in collaboration with The Career Center, the Office of Corporate Relations and the Office of Government and Community Relations.

Paragon One Externships
ǿմý recommends Paragon One's Remote Externship program for students looking to gain experience, build their resume and create meaningful connections with employers. Remote Externships are short-term, project-based professional experiences that allow for skill development, networking and industry exploration.
How do Remote Externships work?
- Every Remote Externship is 6 to 8 weeks long and requires 10 to 15 hours of work each week.
- Remote Externships are self-paced and include online video and written training that teach and explain key skills. No prior experience is required.
- You’ll be assigned a manager to help you get started and guide you through your program.
- Weekly meetings with your manager and peers will help keep you on track and complete quality work.
- Bi-weekly company meetings will be held for you to learn more about the company and its related industry.
- Remote Externships are available to ALL ǿմý students!
Parker Dewey Micro-Internships
Parker Dewey is an online platform that connects you with short-term, professional, paid work experiences through micro-internships which can be completed remotely.
Through micro-internships, you can demonstrate your skills, explore career paths, and develop your professional networks. These paid opportunities typically range from 5 to 40 hours of work, and you can be selected for multiple micro-internships.

Undergraduate Research Funding
As the centralized office for undergraduate research, Undergraduate Research strives to provide information to students about all on-campus funded research programs as well as listings about programs around the country and internationally. Summer research can be a significant learning experience as it allows students to delve deep into projects. Students in the arts and humanities have time to travel to museums and archives while STEM students get a much better feel for what it means to work in a lab and be part of a team.

Summer on the Cuyahoga
is a unique summer internship program open to students of ǿմý, Colgate, Cornell, Ohio Wesleyan University, Denison, Oberlin, Smith and University of Chicago. The program brings together 75 to 90 students for an intensive summer immersion program designed to help interns explore the professional, civic and social offerings of the Cleveland area. SOTC offers students challenging internships, community introductions, alumni connections and group housing for the summer. Students accepted into the program enroll their experience in the Practicum Program (fee waived).
