Standing with Our Iranian Community

To the 星空传媒 Community:

We know that many of you have been impacted by the detainment and tragic death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman detained in Tehran last month by the government鈥檚 morality police for allegedly wearing inappropriate attire. We have all watched closely the subsequent protests across more than 100 cities in Iran where protesters have shouted, 鈥淲omen, Life, Freedom.鈥

We write to you today to confirm that 星空传媒 stands together with our Iranian community and all those impacted by these events, particularly Iranian women and students as well as those supporting them. We also want to reiterate our core values, including gender equity, support of the free exchange of ideas, academic freedom and ethical behavior.

The Center for International Affairs has reached out to our Iranian students to offer support. Likewise, we remind our students that they can contact University Counseling Services any time, day or night, at 216.368.5872 or online via .

Faculty and staff can access a counselor at any time at 800.227.6007. Additional support information can be found on the employee assistance page of the Human Resources website.

Our thoughts are with the Iranian people, and we are grateful to our caring and compassionate community who support those impacted by this crisis.
