Permit Rules

Lot 46

The following types of permits are available:

  1. Continuous permits are available to:
    • Faculty or staff purchasing a permit via payroll deduction
       
  2. Part-time permits are available to:
    • Employees scheduled for 20 hours or fewer per week; or
    • ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ students registered for:
      • 11 hours or fewer (Undergraduate)
      • 8 hours or fewer (Graduate)
         
  3. Full‑time permits are available to:
    • Persons purchasing a permit by cash, check or credit card (Discover, MasterCard and Visa).
    • Part-time students (defined above) whom also employed by a University Circle area institution; or
    • Those persons NOT able to qualify for a part-time permit.
       
  4. Temporary permits are available to:
    • Those who contact Parking Services for availability and restrictions.
       
  5. Night and weekend permits are available to:
    • Those graduate students who purchase a pass in person at Parking Services.
       
  6. Service vehicle and contractor permits are available to:
    • Those who contact Parking Services for availability and restrictions.
       

Please Note: Changes in status from full-time to part-time or vice versa must notify Parking Services.

  1. Parking permits may be purchased with a fall or spring expiration date. Full-time and part-time permits with a June 30 expiration may be renewed on an annual basis. Renewal information is emailed to permit holders in May.
  2. Continuous permits are issued to permanent employees and must be paid through payroll deduction. Cash, checks and credit cards (Discover, MasterCard or Visa) may be used to obtain other parking permits.
  3. Temporary employees do not qualify for permit payroll deduction and must pay in advance a minimum of 30 days. These permits are nonrefundable.
  4. No cancellations or transfers may be made within the first 30 days after a permit is issued.
  5. Lost, stolen or discarded hangtags can be replaced. The fee to replace a continuous permit hangtag for lot with card access is $25. The fee to replace a continuous permit for lots without card access is $50. The fee is waived if the vehicle is reported stolen and supported by an official police report. Temporary permits are not replaceable and you must purchase a new permit.
  6. Temporary permits and summer permits are nonrefundable.
  7. Permit holders are responsible for all parking fees including violations associated with their permit.
  8. Unpaid parking fees and due bills will become violations.
  1. Permits can be canceled after the first 30 days only. To cancel a permit, both the hangtag and gate card must be returned, or a $25 fee will be charged for each.
  2. Parking Services prorates on a daily basis after the first 30 days.
  3. Lot transfers made on or before the 14th of the month result in the new lot’s monthly charge being effective for that month. Lot transfers made on or after the 15th of the month result in the old lot’s monthly charge being effective for that month. No transfers are made during the first 30 days a permit is active.
  4. Permits cannot be resold or transferred to other users.
  5. Temporary permits cannot be canceled, transferred, replaced, or refunded.
  6. Permits must be returned to Parking Services when going on leave; if not, charges will continue to be deducted from your paycheck.
  7. Refunds will be granted minus the first 30 days, outstanding violations, and a $25 administration fee.
