Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion in Neurosciences

ǿմý‘s “Forward Thinking” strategic plan emphasizes diversity and inclusion as key priorities in shaping the university’s future. The University expects to achieve this through civility and the free exchange of ideas; civic and international engagement; and appreciation for the perspectives and talents of each individual. The Department of Neurosciences in the School of Medicine (SOM) shares this commitment to achieving diversity in its research training and educational programs. We celebrate our individualities in race, ethnicity, gender, country of origin, sexual orientation, and gender identity to learn from one another as we work collectively to train the next generation of investigators, solve difficult research problems, and improve health care. ǿմý training programs welcome applications from all individuals who come from diverse populations under-represented in biomedical science or academia, including but not limited to racial and ethnic minorities, those with physical disabilities, and those from disadvantaged backgrounds. The Interdisciplinary Neurosciences Training Program (INTP) actively participates in numerous programs and efforts that comprise a multi-faceted effort to improve inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunity in ǿմý SOM training programs.
