As part of the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Department of Music's graduate seminar on medieval chant and liturgy, Rosemary Heredos, a doctoral student in the ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Historical Performance Program, is working with medieval manuscript music fragments from Kelvin Smith Library's Special Collections for her final project. Rosemary has identified the manuscript leaf as coming from southern Germany or Switzerland in the early 11th century - a thousand years ago!
She has made a , the Offertory antiphon "Filie regum" for the feast of St. Priscilla, which offers a glimpse into the regional conventions and individual style of the singers and scribes at the monastic center where this leaf was produced.
