Join the Student Committee
We are looking for motivated Graduate Studies students interested in contributing to the selection of this year's John S. Diekhoff Awards for faculty excellence in graduate teaching and mentoring.
Committee applications for the 25-26 academic year will open in the fall semester.
Criteria for Selection
Up to four awards will be given annually for distinguished graduate teaching and/or mentoring.
John S. Diekhoff Award for Distinguished Graduate Teaching or Mentoring
The John S. Diekhoff Award is presented annually to four full-time faculty members who make exemplary contributions to the education and development of graduate students at ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½.
- Eligible professors must have a primary (or secondary) faculty appointment in a department awarding degrees through the School of Graduate Studies
- Eligible professors must have taught a graduate course, advised, or mentored graduate students (in Graduate Studies programs)
- Professors are not eligible if they’ve won the same award in the past 4 years
Persons making nominations should be directly advised, mentored, or taught by the professor. Others (professors, postdocs, administrators, etc.) may nominate a professor, but they should be able to provide all information asked on the nomination form.
Award Timeline & Nomination
Reviews are currently underway for the 24-25 nomination cycle and winners will be announced soon.
Nominations for the 25-26 academic year will open in the fall. A committee of graduate students will review the nominations in spring, and recommend the winners. Winners will be notified in the spring semester.
