Professor Pauline Shanks Kaurin

We are honored to welcome the 2021-22 Inamori Distinguished Scholar in Military Ethics, Prof. Pauline Shanks Kaurin, to ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ and to our classrooms. Shanks Kaurin will teach PHIL 336/426: Military Ethics, the Military Profession, and International Law during the Spring semester. She will also advise current and incoming students to the , along with Acting Program Director, ÐÇ¿Õ´«Ã½ Philosophy Prof. Tony Jack.

 

Prof. Shanks Kaurin is Professor and Admiral James B. Stockdale Chair in Professional Military Ethics at the United States Navy War College. She holds a Ph.D. in philosophy from Temple University and specializes in military ethics, Just War Theory, and philosophy of law and applied ethics.
